April 05 Massachuesetts Ghost TripI'll gradually add photos from Kim's and my research trip to Boston, Salem, Marblehead, Nahant, Danvers and Concord (plus more, I'm sure). To me the highlight of the trip was our overnight stay in Room 24 (the haunted room) at the very haunted Colonial Inn in Concord, MA. The Inn is so quaint and gorgeous. After our night in Room 24, Kim and I will both verify that the room is indeed haunted! I will post more details and photos later! -- KC
February 21 Ghost Orbs?It's important to remind everyone that Kim and I first saw the blue orb without the use of a flash. There was little lighting in the area where we stood and several feet behind us there was a low-wattage light bulb dangling from the ceiling. The area was very dim. We could not see the orb with our naked eyes -- we could only see it on the camera viewfinders. When Kim snapped her shot, she did not use a flash. Several seconds later, when I snapped my shot, it was with a flash. In both instances, the orb turned up on our photos. The blue orb (or as Kim calls it a dancing spirit orb), did not throw a shadow or reflection. I'm still trying to figure out what type of energy it was made from! -- KC Ghosts!2/19/06 What an amazing night to go ghost hunting with my dear friend, Kathy, on 2/11/06. Let me start at the beginning. She called me asking if I'd go with her on a ghost hunt at a very exclusive, very old hotel, the Belleview Biltmore, in Clearwater, Florida. I said, "I'd love to!" Equipped with EMF meters, thermometers, cameras, and recording devices, the tour group inspected the hotel, looking to sniff out ghosts. And boy, did we find ghosts! From the footsteps and banging noises coming from the abandoned "fifth floor," to the wing with the "angry man" ghost (so creepy and terrifying!), to the dancing glowing orb that attached itself to our unsuspecting tour guide, the night was filled with thrills and chills! Kathy and I are were up until almost 2:00am inspecting our photos and gasping at the treasured digital finds! Some were so scary, we couldn't bear to look at them and decided to wait until daylight, the next day. We emailed our images to the ghost hunting tour company (www.hauntedorlando.com), who was delighted with our finds. Our tour guide, Shana, is even going to add our crazy experiences to her ghost hunting tour when she shares stories with future tour groups! After all, she was the one with the "spirit orb" dancing all over her that Kathy and I both digitally captured! --Kimberly Llewellyn, www.kimberlyllewellyn.com February 14 Unusual NoisesWhen Kim and I decided to go on the haunted tour of the Belleview Biltmore, we presumed we wouldn't see any true paranormal activity, but we were looking forward to playing with the "little toys" such as the EMF meter (Electromagnetic Field) and the digital thermometer.
The tour is arranged by Haunted Orlando and we weren't disappointed! Our tour was directed by Shana, who told us lots of ghost stories about the hotel.
One of our first signs that there might be something up at the hotel that night was when one of the men who was also on the tour stopped near a fourth-floor stairwell when he heard noises. Kim and I soon joined him and we were surprised to hear sounds coming from the unoccupied 5th floor that was under construction. It was after 8:30 pm, and there weren't any workers present -- so hearing sounds coming from up there was a little surprising.
It sounded as though someone was turning the doorknob on the 5th floor door into the stairwell, then we would hear several footsteps associated with the knob turning. This happened more than once and mainly occurred when we were speaking to each other - as if whomever was making the noise thought it wouldn't be heard if we were occupied talking with each other. At one point I called out, "We hear you. Do you need something?" But there was no response.
We were delighted to have heard something we felt might be paranormal -- KC February 13 Haunted Hotel TourI'm working on a new book and wanted to do some field research. I called my dear pal Kimberly Llewellyn and asked if she'd like to go ghost hunting with me. We took the Haunted Orlando ghost tour of the Belleview Biltmore Hotel in Clearwater last night, February 11, 2006. These are some of our photos.
I'll post more photos as I get them ready (mainly enlargements or lightened versions of what you see here) and will post more bits about what we saw and heard.
Kim and I believe that there may have been a bit more paranormal activity than usual last night because of the fire at the Belleview Biltmore's kitchens that morning. Evidently hotel guests were evacuated for about 3 hours. Probably made nervous wrecks out of the other spirits on the premises :D -- KC The dancing orbKim was trying to take a photo of Shana and was watching her through her digital camera's digital viewfinder. In it, although there's no flash, you see an almost live view of what's happening around you. Once you snap, if your flash is turned on the flash then goes off. But until then, there's no dust orbs or bug orbs. Kim kept wiping off her camera lens because she kept seeing an orb through her viewfinder, but no orb with her naked eyes. She showed me and I saw a blue circle of light circling all around Shana. I started frantically urging, "Take the picture, take the picture," to Kim because I didn't want her to miss the orb. As I was saying take the picture, I turned my camera on, too, and shot a picture just after she took hers. If you look at the photos, you can see the orb on Shana's leg in my photo and on her abdomen in Kim's. The couple in red said they got a "red" measurement on their EMF at the same time. This was near where the medium said there had been a spirit of an angry man. -- KC
